Blogmas Day Seven: Holiday Haikus

A tree with no star

No gifts to unwrap but still

We are the lucky ones

Our park is all white

The snow glittering softly

A blanket of stars

She brought out her list

A new doll for the baby

But the shelf was bare

The children won’t sleep

Quietly they listen for

Sounds of far off bells

Carolers bring cheer

Their breath puffs clouds while they sing

I offer them tea

This time of year

Always helps to remind me

I don’t need more stuff

It’s the time of year

So many presents are wrapped

Scotch tape stock rises

I love a good sale

These boots are ten percent off

I don’t know why but the last one makes me laugh. Hope you enjoyed these. Sometimes it’s fun to limit myself in my writing! Do you find that to be true, too?

Contribute your holiday haikus below in the comments! I’d love to hear some more.
